I am weirdly anal about how my home screen looks as a whole and I would liken my behavior to straightening pens on a desk. I have a very strict feng shui. I keep the iCloud apps on display and then have my most used apps underneath (it makes me really happy that they are all white backgrounds).
My number one rule is to leave a gap for my thumb to swipe. It’s just another weird quirk.

It’s not an iPhone, but it looks the same. I’ve got around 60 apps installed; I don’t use any Apple stock apps except the photos app, so I’ve hidden the rest into a “folder in a folder” which is possible through an iOS glitch. I actually use every app that’s there, except the extra browsers, Mercury and Safari, those are just there for when I need them.
My Twitter is @wolflambert if you want to.
